Pretty neat cnbc got the CEO email before employees. One positive I guess is that 15% layoffs are on hold, for now, but seems like we have a solid number in mind now.
Curious everyone's thoughts

@ej - BS as always
All BNPL groups in San Jose and Chicago will be significantly impacted—prepare accordingly.
I work in BNPL area from Mexico
I hope this news is true. Best for a separate company
Please no layoff in the am is this true?
how does BNPL fit into all of this?
Layoffs in the AM
@a3 yes layoff was mentioned put on hold after criss was fired per https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/29/paypal-restructures-venmo-standalone-unit.html
Though cnbc seems to have misunderstood the email, or were told more than the employees, as it seems "consumer financial services" is alongside venmo in the new pillar. Might mean our credit/loan/pay in 4 stuff lumped in with venmo to juice it's sellability?
15% layoff? But now layoff isnt happening? Is this also related to the venmo news?
