@c4 Mid-May
@cv In ROI, if layoffs are over a particular size, there is a mandatory consultation period of 28 days minimum, where theoretically employees are expected to work as normal. During this time, company and employee reps meet on a regulat basis. After that, employees are notified individually and given two weeks to find somewhere else within the company (not a chance), and in the final meeting you're put on gardening leave with access to email and most stuff (but not slack).
The amount of gardening leave depends on how long you're with the company, under 10 years, 4 weeks, 10 - 15, 6 weeks and over that 8 weeks. You can access online training during this period if you wish.
@cv consultation
so what does the meeting entail? Is there a consultation period or a garden leave in the UK/Ireland?
What happened in the meeting?
@bp so I wish you to regain your freedom, dignity and to find a more normal job, where the essence is to focus on your duties and not on the unstable swirling among the general chaos, silence and disinformation.
@bp I admire your attitude, perhaps the grass is indeed greener outside Oracle.
I just hope severance is good for everyone involved.
