Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Pulling names out of a hat

My peers who were let go were the highest contributors.

This does not make sense what so ever.

I don't know what function your in but GT we have very few high performers. We have people that try hard, but don't deliver. We have people that have potential but never learned because they have zero experience besides Nike

This has nothing to do with defending business vs. charity. We keep going through this because the contributors that actually make a difference get cut so it continues to get worse. The longer they hang on to the lame and lazy to save a few bucks the longer the sh*t show. They aren’t actually evaluating performance or value as they make these decisions.

that seems to be the case every round, all the good people get cut, I guess they make too much money and they prefer the lower cost less experienced people to sit around and do sub standard work

I get the spreadsheet thing, but you don't manage people via cells in a spreadsheet, that is pretty basic common sense, of which these layoffs have none

@a4 Yes, it IS a business, not a charity

We are all just numbers on a spreadsheet at the end of the date. Keep that in my mind at the next all hands (if you survive this round) as EH gives the usual “we had to say goodbye to some teammates and we thank them for their contributions…” bs. Nike doesn’t serve athletes, it serves the shareholders.
