The people we lost...they're some of our best! What's the point in giving it your all if it won't keep you safe?

@br some of us don't want to become the problem and fu-k over the people who aren't lazy. I'm not busting my ba--s for work, but I'm putting in honest work as long as I get honest pay
@br Because some people have integrity.
@ar bro how can you not quiet quit at Nike. The culture is hot garbage, no one likes constructive criticism or even questions. Of course we're in a hole, management quite quit and we have jacasses like Adidas leading tech.
@OP Expect to be on the next cut list, if not this one.
I mean… yes and no. It is publicly traded, sure. But the public has no say… or any influence from the perspective of voting control. So, yes; the public has capital invested in Nike. But it isn’t as “public” as you would initially think or expect. This is Phil’s world and we’re just living in it.
The attitude and engagement of an organization is a reflection of its leadership. If people are checked out… no grandstanding on a message board is going to fix it. This is a leadership problem.
Us plebes literally have no say here… unless we check out. Leadership doesn’t care. And hasn’t cared for a long time. Quiet quitting is the only thing that people that don’t matter… can do to demonstrate. Are you asking me to stick my neck out and provide feedback that could risk my ability to buy food for my family? No thank you. Those public investors you mentioned will need to let leadership know of their disdain when business performance fails. Or, we could have a culture of feedback. But we don’t.
In fact… one could argue the previous strength of culture is what allowed for poor leadership to maintain for as long as it has. People continuing to believe… and do everything they could… was/is masking poor leadership all along.
I don’t think anyone genuinely feels good about coasting. Or quiet quitting. We all want to be on a winning team. Fundamentally, there is a physiological desire to great work… but we all will adapt to the environment around us.
And management has made clear where they stand on the leadership spectrum by having created the environment we’re in.
Basic values and decency reject the racist trolls and calling people names to prove some point. There is no honor in knowingly keeping gainful employment and doing the bare minimum while others would appreciate that job.
Love the snowflake brigade coming in these threads outraged you'd exploit a corporation. Gotta get that money however you can, it's the American way. Good on you, OP
Quiet quitting means taking a paycheck without putting in the time and effort. This is a publicly traded company not welfare. Grow up and have some perspective. There are plenty of people who would happily change spots.
@OP Wow. You should be ashamed of yourself. My guess is you are Gen Z.
Choosing to disengage while still collecting a paycheck isn’t something to be proud of. If you’re frustrated with the direction of a company, there are more constructive ways to handle it - either by addressing concerns directly or moving on. Quietly checking out tends to make problems worse, not better. This has been going on so long at Nike that we’re seeing how the results of quiet quitting and woke culture destroys our beautiful company and society.
