Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Now they are threatening managers will be terminated if employees MOOSE is wrong

They just can't get enough people off of payroll. They are now threatening managers if the employee's MOOSE is marked incorrectly. A manager with CLO and MS employees sent out a notification to their employees that while MS might be 2 days, the expectation is 5 days, and that the CLO employees are expected 5 days at the customer site.

There was a big emphasis on MOOSE being correctly coded, and that any telecommuting be preapproved by their manager. The quote was "They aren't losing their job because I don't know where you are"!

So as managers you're not being treated as customer serving managers? Also, how can you tell where your CLO employees are if they are always on VPN?

Moose is mandatory for us along with the Outlook calendar invites. The expectation is that it’s all aligned, along with the coding in Infor.

This has been stressed more recently, so I expect there must be some reason for it.

Gotta wonder how are getting paid 6 figures to manage all the presence reporting sites? Is the ROI equivalent to the spend on AI?

My org doesn’t use Moose much. They’ve decided to misuse outlook and send a meeting invite to 30+ people every time someone has a 2 hour dentist appt. It’s insanity - 5-10 of these “meeting invites” a day.

Who cares. You get exactly 8 hours out of me for five days a week. I'll do whatever you want in that timeframe. If you fill it up with all admin type stuff then you get no actual work. Whatever you want.

@hz - where did the director say it? If it is in writing, an ethics complaint should be filed and a complaint with the EEOC. And heck - probably a COBC complaint. And then a lawsuit.

@hz yeah...they are crossing a line asking detailed medical information and treatment specifics like facility names. None of their damn business thank you...

@hz , BS! They can’t be asking your personal medical details.

Our Director said we had to code medical appointments as illness and annotate the name of the facility and the medical reason. I don't believe AT&T is aware of how ignorant some of their designated "leaders" are.

I haven't used MOOSE in years. It would be interesting to find the paragraph in the COBC that dictates the proper usage of MOOSE.

Who is "they"?

This sounds like a specific group with a specific manager making stuff up to make underlings comply. Just like the managers who tell their employees that HR sets headcount so they don't take any blame for reductions.

Some orgs don't use MOOSE at all...

Moose isn’t going to save anybody. There are people who never update their status and they’re also never in the office. They are besties with the right people so they get by with it.
