Is it true that we are being asked to move in July? Manager has no information. Told that we have time till September. Looking aggressively for an opening in Philly area jut no luck. Have to start looking for apartments if moved to NYC than commuting.
Apartments are very unaffordable in N Jersey or NYC suburbs with commuting time and cost. The overall tax impact is also high, if one has to move to NYC location.
Effectively a pay cut in these hard times.
Site in PA could be Berwyn. Archer and some from Pershing are already there.
Could be large enough to handle large groups as well as Philly once lease for new bldg ends.

In December ‘23, we were told in person that it was closing and to prepare to moving to NYC or JC or we could just be terminated by mid June ‘24 if we could not make the switch.
It was all true. And by Thanksgiving ‘24, the Woodland Park Rifle camp road building was totally demolished and being carted away.
Our management has had plenty of lead time to deal with Pennington and the timeline of September is correct. 5 months is plenty of time as far as they are concerned. Destroying things is something they do well.

It is confirmed from reliable sources that the place is closing in September, and the teams are being assigned to JC and NYC. The seat assignments are complete and there is ample space. This is just at the logistical level not even taking into account the attrition and the impending layoffs scheduled - the managers have been asked to provide list and have provided. Scheduled in summer (June or July predicted). There is also RTO firing in the works.
We are id--ts thinking that the illusion that we create that the HR and management are dimwits. They may be evil and cold hearted, but they know their arithmetic and their numbers and how many chairs are available and how many can be fitted without violating OSHA rules.

myself and they can’t fit anyone else in there particularly in the middle of the week. I’ve seen every possible piece of space used to work. Pennington is so loud from all the people that I can hear them over my music and earbuds. They don’t all fit in once office. NYC is not an option. Without opening an eastern PA office they will either need to extend the lease or everyone will be working from home in the interim.

This poster is a blatant liar. Sayin that without any hesitation. As a person who goes to JC all five days, I can vouch that the floors are empty, ghost towns on each and every day. More than half the place is empty. And Monday and Friday are the worst.
@OP is in a stressful situation. Do not feed the person incorrect and made-up information. That is sadistic. Working from a closet? Are you the one who goes around sniffing the stalls and reporting about the left-overs?
No one is moving out of Pennington in July. That’s three months away and even if they got the lease signed today it would take months to fix the floor plan so it could be occupied. There’s no room in NYC and JC (people are working in closets at the latter). They’re probably going to have to do an emergency extension if that’s even possible at the moment or people are going to be working from home until and if another situation gets figured out.
Rennovations have started in NYC and they’re moving people out of 240. There’s no room.
BNY does not care about those impacted. They are not interested in making this transition easy for employees. It’s the middle of April with little official communication. The rumored new site in PA is still an unknown. Where and when people will need to report is still a mystery to most. Has this all been mishandled by management or is this all by design? You decide. Either way, the employees are put in a difficult situation and nobody seems to care. Be prepared for anything.
