What impacts do you see?

Two colleagues left and I was assigned to work on their leftovers. I'm not sure if it's a good sign or not being dumped with something obviously out of my expertise. That may be a precursor of layoff.
My team was impacted by two senior members RIFed, one member put in a entirely new group leaving one person to do the work that was originally for 3 individuals. That logic makes perfect sense to me!
Disorganization and chaos from the top down. Upper management too inept to even know what work would have to be dumped onto another team.
