MST home dispatch tech use and abuse company assets. Driving 100K-200K bucket trucks to their home and back to their home garage everyday. Big V8 6.3 L engines use a lot of gas and insurance on top. Also, with MST high pay and only have .5 job per tech a day per tech how is that saving company money and liability.
There are rules to follow when joining home dispatch program. Following the rules helps save gas and time and wear and tear on a vehicle used to drive to work and to home. But MSTs abuse this program from driving to the garage every day and dispatching at the garage. Making a stop at the grocery store to grocery shop in the company vehicle before driving home. Not closing your last job at the job site and instead, drive home and being still dispatched on your work ticket and then closing the job when you arrive home. I follow the rules, and I do not want the home dispatch program to go away because of MSTs taking advantage of the abuse. Also, MST managers are favoring many MSTs and letting the home dispatch MSTs do what ever they want. STOP ABUSING THE HOME DISPATCH PROGRAM YOU MSTs. You know who you are...

Put a camera on everyones desk and track the gps in all their phones. Make em badge in and out of the office when they arrive, take a break, lunch, and when they leave at the end of the day. Lets make sure all those management folks put their 8 hours in for once and quit stealing time from the company leaving the house to run errands, working 2nd jobs, doing laundry, watching tv and playing games on their phones and tablets. Maybe after all the cost savings from that we can talk about eliminating home garaging.
@g9
Sounds good. Make the techs return to garaging at a company location. Also, make management stay at work in their office til the last tech is parked and done for the day. Fair is fair correct?
@gw
Can you drop off a couple egg mcmuffins at my house on your way to the office? I wont be leaving my house til about the time you check your first email.
@hd WFH is beneficial to both sides for management also, but nobody cares. It’s about max pain in hopes that you quit. Rest assured home dispatch is going away.
@hd I worked from home for a a decade before Covid was ever mentioned. Boo hoo… too bad, get over it or quit. You cannot cut these corners any longer. If we all must RTO then you must RTO also. This is not about accommodations.
WFH and home dispatch are not the same thing. Pretty sure home dispatch techs don’t do their job from inside their residence. And that program was implemented well before Covid. Not saying that with the technology changes it is (or should be if the original rules were followed) beneficial to both sides.
High quality post
WFH for techs is over. Covid ended 5 years ago. Time to RTO like the rest of us. Anyone who thought this would last is a fool. If you don’t like it we can talk about this.. in the office.
Do the right thing and end home dispatch. The company can no longer afford having company trucks and gas used for personal chores. It’s time for the techs to RTO also.
Boo hoo.. get over it or quit, see you on the commute!
If managers must RTO then the techs must RTO too. Just drive to the garage in your personal Nd pick up the truck it’s very simple. Been done for a century. See you on the commute!
What a cry-hard!
Yeah it’s getting stale but even he admits the program is being abused. Old enough to remember when this program kicked off and there seemed to be enough cost benefits to both sides to justify. Basically taking away WFH for the techs. Know my old crew is scrapping for work most days and that changes the cost benefit ratio quite a bit.
Redux, redux, redux, redux, redux, this bot must be stuck on the same script. Time to move forward and talk about layoff topics.
is someone pi---d off because they cannot home dispatch.
He’s baaccckkkk
