Bunch of people in marketing laid off in last few days but it's been selective. Both the digital side and the financial side.

As someone who used to work at corporate... no one other knew what Marketing did. They barely ever showed up in the office (pre and post COVID)... only time I ever saw their area have a significant presence was when there was free food for some "rah, rah, we awesome" event.
I never got a clear view of what “Marketing” actually did at ricoh.
@ey It's massive and useless. Our direct marketing is minimal, it's mostly trying to work out how to take credit for sales activities.
Genuinely surprised we even had a marketing department. As a regular consumer I've never seen anything, Ricoh wise, come up naturally without me directly searching for it. And then the algorithm(s) never gave me anything else.
