Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

If there was any doubt …

All annual reviews have to be done by the 24th, which makes sense because they want the managers to complete them before the next week when the layoff will undoubtedly happen. Last week of April it is!

@an It's still quarterly + 1 annual CFE. whole system is a joke tbh, it's just to create a paper trail in case someone lawyers up

Did we not move to having quarterly check-ins? Before the last re-org in June, my boss and I did quarterly check-ins in addition to a yearly CFE. I haven't heard about either of those things from my current manager. It's honestly shocking how pi-s-poor of a manager he is.

@ad Are you an ETW? Only FTE's participate in "Coaching For Excellence" AKA performance reviewing.

If you're an FTE in GT it might be a good idea to ask your manager if you have a CFE due soon... might tell you which way the wind is blowing. Some are faster or slower than others.

Layoffs will be the week after all-hands...
Layoffs will be the week after the GT all hands...
Layoffs will be the week after performance reviews...

And then, when someone who actually knew when layoffs was arrived, nobody believed him.

Annual reviews are always submitted at this time of year. Past layoffs have happened both before and after performance reviews.

We can guess relative to major events as many times as we want and eventually we'll be right. It doesn't mean our reasoning was correct.
