Mean Girls fight scene

Take a long scroll through the posts today. Look at what this is doing to employees who I bet would hold doors, chat around the water cooler, laugh on TEAMS together. This reminds me of the Mean Girls massive fight scene where she imagines them all like safari animals. We turned on each other instead of where it needs to go. Why?!

@bn it will swing back around to major companies. As will the great resignation when the job market improves.

Smart companies are embracing Remote work. It is the future so not sure why this RTO other than to get people to quit.

@aq McKinsey being an abomination is a key theme in all of this. It's a cult that is both incompetent in the real world and rotten to the core.

@a3 They actually don't. They've just decided the upside of getting people to voluntarily leave outweighs the downsides of destroying the culture, respect, trust, and confidence of the remaining employees.

And you know what, in the extremely short term, they're right. But it's poison to our long-term health. All our best people are the ones who won't stand for being treated like this and will have the options of leaving now, or later.

This does indeed save us money, by filtering out our best employees and making sure the remaining ones are miserable and unhappy. Terrible way to manage a company.

McKinsey is such an abomination.

We're all in trouble in different ways and this is a problem of the company's making. Other companies were smart enough to force the whole workforce to RTO. Here we have one set of employees facing all of the RTO hassle and the remote population avoids it all.

I thought this title was hyperbole until I read through a number of threads. Hybrids against remotes, etc. The more we fight against one another the more they win. This has been a sh-t show and the exec committee should be ashamed and embarrassed that this was rolled out so poorly.

OP most of the bitterness on here today is not targeted at other posters (yes there are a few instances of that), but mostly at our inept sr leadership. People feel disappointed, angry, betrayed, bitter. This is what happens when we are expected to trust our leadership team then they flip the script on us over and over. Welcome to your remote role! I know we said it was remote, but sorry you now must come in to a hub 11 days per month! Thanks for complying with that, but now we're changing how the compliance is calculated and tracked you you're out of compliance! The real number is more like 14 days! Sorry! How the fu-k do you expect people to feel?

I'll never get why they care so much about RTO while they have a nationwide workforce and are aggressively outsourcing.
