Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle - get ready for H1b audit

We noticed lots of greencard and US citizens were laidoff where H1b in same team survived. This seems one of favoritism for low cost worker. Filed a case for this.
Seems lots of H1b frauds floating around in Texas and Nashville and Oracle is hiring H1b's here ...
The Indian managers who held H1b and laidoff US residents should be questioned.
Lots of news floating around on H1b fraud now.

Oracle is the first company I joined where a someone asked me if I was h1b, green card, etc.... And I'm fairly certain it was to determine how much political power they had over me.

Or if I was going to vote... (only citizens can vote).

Isn't the purpose of h1b, to bring in mercenaries who are absolute killers in their field? Talent that otherwise, would be impossible for a US company to source?

As of now, my experience is, that is definitely not the case. Just seems like labor that is subservient, and cheap. What a shame.

H1B earns a lot more than us citizens due to the minimum wage requirement. Many ah1 Bs were also laid off. Please don’t spread false rumors.

@dv

They referred to race/racism IN RESPONSE TO THIS, which out of nowhere labled someone based on their RACE, when up until then, RACE hadn't even been mentioned or implied:

"The white guy who posted this is fear mongering..."

Report H1B fraud here:

Complaining here does nothing.

Coooommon guys! Where did you see cheap H1B in America??? Where?
They earn same salary and maybe higher then the rest of us. BUT they have an advantage of h1b ( likely not being fired) and disadvantage- have to stick with the company

@d4 I will point out the obvious... you are the one who screamed out racism.

@ch

Why are you bringing RACE into this?

H1Bs can be from any country, and be of any race.

Screaming, "RACISM!" is a tired tactic, and it's not working anymore.
It just serves to shows that you're envious of those you wish you could be, unnerved at being called out, guilty of what you accuse others of being, and possibly scared of having your dubious dealings being brought into the light.

Have a nice day!

There is no case. The white guy who posted this is fear mongering instead of learning any employable skills

I am a US citizen, but I know of at least a dozen close friends and colleagues who were on H1Bs that lost their jobs last week. Many were more "America" than people I went to high school with.

That being said, I am sure that somewhere in the company there was an Indian executive who used some degree of favoritism to save other Indian H1B visa holders. Same as they hire them through favoritism, nepotism, etc.

But to say that H1Bs were not impacted is insanity.

Being a U.S. citizen doesn’t mean much—what matters to the company is someone who’s cheap, compliant, and willing to work overtime.
