I've been job hunting for months. Calling the market "slim pickings" is generous, and it's only going to get worse. We're heading toward a place where beggars can't be choosers. Anything, anywhere, for any amount of time, will have to do.

Make no mistake. If you are not in india and are rebadged, it's only a matter of time for you. This is their exact business model.
Exactly - people will show up for work and do their stuff at a minimum level, act like contractor and buy time for next gig. Get some certs, training, and find a company hiring that will give them a real job again. These weekly worry over next RIF, next benes drops, etc is for the birds. Even those left at FIS can feel the angst.
