Today is the last day for many who were impacted back on January 28th. How USAA treated those in office that dark day, just remember, karma is real and not tomorrow or next month or even next year, but everything eventually gets a return.

@hh a 5% decrease and another 5% to go before end of year, so it’s going to be a wild last 8 months, that’s not a good thing. A lot of the employees impacted back in January, most were in the 10-15 year tenure and over 40. If you’re in bank and were impacted in January, look at the bottom of your severance package, it’ll show you the job titles and age of those impacted. I was impacted, but was able to land another role, only because my wife is pregnant and we couldn’t risk not having insurance the last few months of her pregnancy. I’m planning to use all my PTO in October when she’s due, then start paternity leave immediately after, so it ends when the bonus hits, then bye bye USAA.
@hh bank needs to be down 10% by end of 2026, January was the first big hit at 5%, expect 2 more rounds this year to get to the 10%.
I looked at our Bank org chart on Microsoft just after that January layoff day and again yesterday, 4/4, after the separation date. Bank is down 700+ employees. That represents a 5% decrease.
@bs
ESG is actually the biggest criminal racketeering scheme in history, but it's always nice to see the cult of mo--ns actually did have some true believers and isn't completely fake, even if the true believers do lack triple digit IQs. We can't all be above average now can we?
@bs “getting there’s” could be anything, like a 3rd consent order hitting in 2029 (which very well might happen if the current trajectory keeps going the way it is).
I feel for you I really do. But sadly, no, they won’t get there’s. Companies are being rewarded right now for layoffs. There’s no incentive or benefit or tax breaks for hiring.
I hope we are all learning how things like “DEI” or “ESG” are actually creative legal ways of forcing companies to hire American employees. And while you may disagree that x amount may be of color or black or disabled, that raises the sea for ALL OF US.
January 28th was a very dark day, and the company still has made no comment about it; just sweep it under the rug and keep ignoring it and people will eventually forget. I was in office that day at 8am and was called into a conference room at 9am, then was escorted out of the building by security. As I sat crying in my car, I see another girl on my team being escorted out.
One day USAA, your day will come.
