Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

There is always one

"Grow up, get over it, baloney, you'll find another job!" Everyone's circumstances, obligations, etc., are very different. No one can know what someone might be facing in the news of a layoff or rebadge. If you disagree, say so, don't be a je-k about it.

@az timing is critical, it's been about a week since some people found out that their finances were just upended. Some time to process, discuss with family and find their horizon is not too much to ask. Let's be kind and remember that your message may be received differently than you intended.

@az I am not affected here, I used to be affected somewhere else. Talking from my experience, I wish someone had told me that when I was in trouble. It would have saved a lot of nerves and energy.

It is way easier to advise when you are not in an emotional state, I cannot agree more. But it doesn’t mean the advice is not with good intentions.

Translation: "I was blitzed out of my mind last night when I posted THIS: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1kn31z12q ...but yet here I am again, sober today, yet still whining!

You need to distinguish empathy from a call for action. I do have a lot of empathy for all my colleagues affected; I wish them all the success, happiness, and luck against FIS in court if they go there. An important point is: what distinguishes us from children is the ability to move on and action it. Be smart, play smart. Move on.
