Have the layoffs even been mentioned to those who were not affected ?

Survived numerous layoffs and victim of a few. Within a week people forget and move on. Survivors should realize they could be the next round. Victims understand your coworkers are not reaching out in many cases because they don't know what to say and have survivor guilt. Friendly advice, work is exchange of money for time. Don't spend a second extra on it. Disconnect on weekends. Don't do more than minimum. Use your sick days. Use your time off. Your significant other, family, friends, hobbies, alone time are more precious than any any pittance of a raise you will get for doing anything extra. Do what is best for you, not the company. Just read LinkedIn for those who were laid off, you will see:
- Pittance of severance and trying to pay minimum and con people if they can
- Dying and sick employees cut from life/health insurance coverage
- Employees on maternity leave terminated
- Employees with 20, 25, 30 years thrown out out via email
Business is not a charity they will tell you. I agree, so why are you donating any extra time and effort to them? Do the minimum, do it professionally, and leave work the minute it is knock off time. Look out for your best interest just as the company does. Your shareholders are your significant other, family, hobbies, interests. They value your time and you. Treat them as important as Oracle treats its shareholders.
our VP told us yesterday on the call that it was a sad day and he is not going to try spinning it. he urged us to contact those who were laid off and provide them moral support.
No mention at all from any top manager.
There has been no public disclosure to shareholders or the press that layoffs have happened. Management is sticking to its 'restructuring' story.
Layoff? What layoff?
@a3 Yet, that's exactly what it seems the remaining organization is doing.
My manager has not said a word to me. I’ve been in a holding pattern until they do. No sense in doing any work after my team was basically destroyed.
After the Sep layoffs any meetings with M6 or higher, they contorted themselves in all kinds of ways to avoid the word layoff or to acknowledge that people were let go. Sr leaders are like children, they seem to think if they just ignore it and dont say anything about it, it wont be true. I received my not so personal email yesterday morning, but can only assume that they continue to do the same thing this time around, maybe with even more creative wording since this round was done with no professional courtesy or respect to those being let go at all.
What are you getting it? Any layoff of this magnitude is impossible to ignore.
