D-mb question but - personal email or work email? Sorry to be callous, but I'm just waiting for the hammer to fall.
And rumor has it that this will become the norm as they continually "adjust" their workforce. Best you can do in this environment is continue to acquire marketable skills, build your rainy day fund, keep your resume updated, and network in your areas of expertise. That will allow you to have more control over your destiny.
OP, there are no guarantees about anything they just took away thousands of people's livelihoods with an email. Maybe they can only support a specific number at a time and another round is queued. Who knows, don't make any big purchases...
