Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

New laptop?

Has anyone else ever received an email from Business Technology Solutions that it's time to replace their laptop? The email is from Centene Laptop Refresh Program.

No one else that I know (not even my PL who has been there longer than me) has received this email or replaced their laptop if it was functioning properly. My laptop is working just fine and this will just be one more hassle that I frankly don't have time to deal with. Does anybody know what this is about?

it's def a conspiracy. For good measure you should craft a hat of tinfoil and report your concerns to HR

Yes, my laptop was replaced in November after receiving email notifications. If your laptop is older than 3 years (mine was 5), they will notify you of replacement.

Yeah this is going on all over as the laptops age out of warranty status .

A lot of the old laptops were only 16 gig and out of warranty. I just got a new one and it’s so much better so if they’re gonna give you one get it.

@OP I got this email and ignored it and just got another from the supe saying I must fill out the form and do this. I replaced my laptop almost 2 years ago and it was a nightmare. I lost things I was told I could not recover and all my windows kept closing and I take inbound calls all day. Many calls to the Help Desk Later and they said there is only so much they can do. Turns out I probably did not need to replace it. My screen was actually not the problem- it was the charger. Ugh. It took several months for me to work out the problems and my system was updating constantly. I was told my operating system was a bad image or something like that and after 8 weeks they told me to wipe my operating system clean and to start over. I just don't have time for this again. I got my laptop working fine with no issues for over a year now. I am a remote worker and I kind of assumed we all got this email. I truly hope I can keep the laptop I have and get around this. Any suggestions?

I am preparing my new laptop currently and everyone in my Dev team is getting or already got a new laptop. I’ve been working with the older one for at least 5 years now. It’s a hassle but necessary I guess.

I got the same email two weeks ago. I think they replace after three years or so.
