If it was the case I would have been laid off years ago. Meanwhile, I survived over 90% of team mates so far. Sure, I can get a boot at any moment, but it won't be due to my laptop corporate spyware.
I don't know why this is surprising to anyone, using the data from how you use your company notebook is how they have been building a loyalty score on each and every employee and factoring that into the decision on whether to let you go. There's a number of daemons running that are collecting data, watching what you do, and feeding it back to a central profiling tool. You agree to this when you use a corporate notebook. If you get laid off in this round, think back to what you were doing on your notebook, even something as simple as innocently using it to check stocks, watch YouTube, play games, book a vacation - on your own time, on the weekend, may very well have contributed to your layoff. Use the company notebook for business, nothing more. And yes, don't put any Oracle software on your own personal device - you'd be insane to do that.
@a3 OP mentioned they record your audio !! this is way different then using the laptop for personal work , like how can they record my audio when i am working from home and record all what my family is saying around ???, using their laptop definitely doesnt give them the right to record my audio , maybe during a zoom call whatever but the whole time? he-l no
i would never never accept them to record audio , who are they to record what i say around the house this will be a major privacy and legal issue , thank god i didnt find it on my laptop
checked i have nothing on my laptop maybe its for specific teams
@a2 I will add to this don't BYOD. I really don't understand why people do this. If you use your personal device they are very clear they will spy on it and even wipe it at a time of their choosing for whatever reason they want.
Yes, I validated it on my laptop.
Spyware is a strong word. The laptop is owned by Oracle and meant to be used for business purposes. Oracle has every right to do this.
If people want to use their laptops for non-work purposes, don't. Use your own device.
