Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna’s internal hiring practice is wrong on so many levels. When posting the position the manager can check a box that states they have “someone in mind”. The position gets posted but hiring manage does not have to do interviews, they just hire the person they want. Applied for multiple positions and never got one interview. They meet the legal requirement by posting it but the applicants never get considered when that box is checked.

That’s illegal in many states, even in house hiring, but nearly impossible to prove they arent doing it anyways. And they are of course.

Recruiters can see and should be making sure salary is in line before engaging for interviews. Hiring managers can ask the recruiter if salary is in line but cannot see it. If I were you i would directly engage the recruiter and show interest and confirm if salary is in line. Then also reach out to hiring managers expressing interest and how you would be a great fit for their role. Toot your own ho-n. Use AI to write something appropriate

Wait until H1Bs are given priority here. Happening in a lot of companies now. Never thought I would see this here in the US. Thank the greedy stockholders and the inept leadership of Cigna

Same experience I had in the months leading up to the layoff. Some awful hiring managers in the Digital org that you can tell were trying to find any excuse to hire from HIH but had to interview you because you are Amerrican.

They can find out your salary from the recruiter. In house recruiters can see on their end.
