Thread regarding UPS layoffs

150,000 buyout for Central States drivers was canceled 3/24/26 will all buyouts be canceled?

3/24/26 Teamsters announced buyouts were withdrawn by company for 13 Central States. No surprise. All negotiations should go thru the Union first. But the big question is will investors feel they were duped by stepping on a known banana peel and ask for their money back?

Many past companies have given the appearance of buyouts during low revenue quarters to garner more income or investments. But it is not possible a Corp. just did not fully read the Union contract they signed so they had to withdraw buyout offers. Fishy....

Being a lunch skipper and falling for oh rush oh hurry is never safe or rewarded...so wake up! The Union is the protector of what you should have gotten. The contract and just common respect demands going thru the Union first. Anything else is a false trick at Union busting.

Layoffs create unemployment costs and loss of revenue. Entice buyers first in stocks to pay for layoff costs later. Common strategy.

has the scent of that historical oil and gas business that was failing and told stock buyers it was going to chop jobs with buyouts plus layoffs. buyers jumped on it thinking trims of fat mean dollars later. the business pulled the plug on buyouts saying it was the unions fault it did not work out. employees were misguided into wrongfully blaming the union.

More bait and switch games. Why not just be truthful, have good intentions and seek what is right?
