Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Any layoff/restructuring rumors due to the middle east situation?

Given the impact MENA has on SLB’s revenue and the closing of the strait, any rumors about the SLB situation and what to expect in terms of headcount situation in the Houston metroplex?

@OP US rig count is up 42 YTD but I heard that competitors are really under bidding us. My manager thinks that if this continues by mid Q3 we could see significant layoffs. Need to start looking at a back up plan.

Comrades, I urge you to take the retirement buyout for all International employees. The UK Workplace Pension, French Plan épargne Retraite and the US 401 are fully funded but the International is not. This will be offered once before we freeze and cancel the International Plan. You have been forewarned. Offer expires in August.

They just had an idea, if you fire someone than you do not need to accommodate... Huge bonus!

Last I heard Katy HECE was shutting down and will be merged with HFE. Senior management was looking into how to accommodate everyone in the 110 building office space. Unsure about the middle east situation, fairly new but saw 0.6-0.6 eps drop. Real scary. Apr 24 will reveal the ground reality.
Hope to be safe this year, nearing 20 years now.
