Badge Access Logging question

To people who have seen the badge access reports.

I am trying to understand what information is included in the badge access reports. Could you please help with the following questions?

Timing & delay: When are the reports created? Is there any delay before the data shows up?
Time details: Do the logs show exact times (hour and minute), or only the date?
Location details: Do the reports show the exact building, and door/reader used for each scan?
Entry/exit records: Does the report record every swipe in and out, or only the first and last entry of the day?

Thanks

I would like direct access to the information that shows how long I’m “in the office” so I know specifically what triggers the begging and end period. It is a bit unfair to have nothing official and to rely on rumors even from my manager.

Yes saw first hand. We had a meeting once with the team and they passed a printout around the room so everyone could see their employee id and times. I guess this was done for example to inform us how serious the security policy was.

They use these reports for a couple reasons:

  • To support a reason they want to get rid of you
  • To use come performance review time to reduce your cost

Personally i no longer care. I do my time and keep my mouth shut and wait for my time to shine as i sail off into the sunset. I am not giving WF my brain. However, i am also focusing on changing the way i work so i don’t work so much OT

I find it really bizarre that we can’t see our data in Workday. The whole guessing thing is so ridiculous. I can’t believe Bridgette invested stockholder good money to catch people not in office a certain amount of hours. Data isn’t free. Insane

My Manager provides a quarterly summary every 12 weeks. They can drill the summary down to one month too. What i see on the dashboard report is a weekly break down of the days I was in the office/holidays/pto. It also provides an in-office average for those 12 weeks, as well as an average "Time in-office" which usually shows up as "8+ hours". I believe they can break the data down if requested. I self tracking my days and hours. I thought this past quarter i would miss the "8+ hours" because I calculated an average just under 8 hours. Roughly 7:45. There must be some sort of threshold to get that "8+ hours" mentioned in the report.

Every bit of that data mentioned is retained, specific reader, times etc. The real question is: what is actually passed on to managers. As far as I can tell is just the average time in office, not any of the underlying data, but the data certainly exists.

Ask your manager to show you your report. Every manager can generate an individual report to share.
