There are rumours about another round of goodbyes?!

@1x8 Not if the goal is to cut as much cost as possible. Since there's not enough revenue to pay for these people, low paid labor is going to be the savior of the company. At least thats what leadership believes.

Another case of sr. management is getting rid of the wrong people and it's been going on for a while now. It really doesn't matter at this point given direction of the company.

@1sy, the last few were not about the low performers. Each person selected, whom I laid off, was selected by upper management, and that selection was always based on salary. For my team, the lowest performing Steady Eddy was also the team's lowest cost... thus that individual is still there, and I know they are pretty stressed out. They call me almost every other week, asking advice, asking what I've heard...

@v2 Only so many times you can change the definition of ARR to drive ARR growth before you start running out of revenue to reclassify.

Next one will happen, performance based. Layoffs be mandated if numbers don’t look good.

@tt I would imagine it would be fairly close to the next 'earnings' reports when we hear the words 'headwinds' and 'challenges in the same breath as 'earnings'.

Any rumors about which week it will be?

@bj Most of product engineering are doing the job of 3-4 individuals. The exception is the directors and product management that only know how to delegate. Then ask them to do their job and it’s radio silence. Lots of deadweight at Teradata; layoffs continue to target the wrong people though.

@c2 even those who knew how to RIF were let go.

During a recent interview, one of the hiring managers conducting the interview said; Wow, is Teradata still around?

I also took a call from 2 former colleagues, who were asking questions about a particular customer. They said they are pretty stressed out with the workload they now have.

I just feel sorry for the remaining staff there. It's got to the most depressing and hopeless day to day grind wondering when your number is going to be called.

RIF's are the only thing in Teradata's playbook that they know how to do, so I would count on it. Too bad they don't know how to innovate and actually come up with an appealing product offering in an exploding AI market...But hey, gotta continue the charade to make those EPS numbers look good!

@bx Imagine trying to find someone who would take over this dumpster fire. Hasn't worked out for the product org so far.

How does the leprechaun ceo keep his job? Teradata has gotten worse every quarter he's been leader. Also the checked out bod are just as worthless. Its been time to flush the executive toilet for a while. Time to start new.

I was on a call a month or so ago that was higher level than I am, and someone mentioned how stretched thin people are due to the layoffs, and a senior person said "and more are coming". So I dont know about April, but it sounds plausible.

Why not. Everyone's already doing at least 2 jobs, why cant they handle 3?
