Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Being laid off would have been better

They eliminated my position and moved me into something completely different with zero training or support. No one ever explained what success looked like, no one checked in to see if I was managing. It feels less like a reassignment and more like they were setting me up to fail from day one. Six months later, I'm exhausted just trying to keep my head above water.

Classic bank move. Every employee has to be miserable. Management identifies happy, effective employees and does everything possible to destroy it.

They did this to me and one other girl. I think they were trying to to get us to quit. Anyway, we both found new job internally. We were both transferred to position that was nothing related to what we previously did.

It was miserable when you have no idea what you are doing and I believe that was their plan

@OP They pulled this sh-t on me too, except instead of eliminating my previous position they gave my work to someone half my age and then placed me in a nonsense backfill role where I had to hear constantly about all the work this person now owned. It was perverse and abusive, truly. It’s not you. The company is poisoned, and its management is a toxic cult. Do whatever you have to do to protect your mental health during this time. You’ll get to the other side of this. It was difficult as he-l and showing up everyday was mental torture, but I did it, and so will you.

I mean, there's the option of looking for other positions while you're figuring this out.

I know you're miserable, but you still have steady income while you look for something that's a better fit. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you're still in a better position than those who have been laid off in this dumpster fire of a job market.

Hang in there.
