What if we dedicated 6 months and a team of 12 people to an effort to create a Figma prototypes of things we'll never bring to market?
Cisco shipped a "performance improvement" program which not only massively overran its schedule but reduced performance by more than an order of magnitude because you only get a bonus for not admitting absolute failure. Was there ever a thought bad enough that Cisco didn't wait until after it shipped to cancel it?
This happens in a company that people get hired and promoted based on "Friends and Family" qualifications but not based on talent. Then the incompetent leaders try to cover up their weaknesses and lack of talent by cheating, abusing subordinates and getting credit of subordinate ideas and results. That is why a minority of talented employees become num and constantly look to find another job.
SBG is a very good example with not just friends and family leadership but also many of mentally ill leaders.

No idea what the mission of Cisco is other that throw a bunch of crapware at a potential customer and hope they buy some thing leaving the account team with a post sales headache forever afterwards.
