@fs 100% this. That’s why MSD continues. It’s all about sticky and keeping the “cult” happy as Hock would say…. As boring as MSD might be from a workplace and tech PoV.. there are many who are resting and vesting…. And most are late 50’s thru late 60’s and counting down the days to retire…
All ESG employees will be fired. All customers will get their products in a self serve manner and will pay double.
This is the way.
Hock might sell ESG at a lower price this year.
See ya!
Broadcom has absolutely no idea how to run a software business. Even the hardware is just lucky owing to AI bo-m, hock says it himself.
Hock has no intention to run software businesses at all.
Buy, milk, and sell, that's his strategy.

If ESG is anything like the IMS and AOD divisions there are no new sales efforts it’s just milking existing contracts which eventually churn out. So then you’re basically just hoping the products are sticky and entrenched enough to keep customers renewing.
I’m assuming ESG products are easily replaceable from other vendors whereas CA mainframe and maybe VMware are much harder to rip and replace.
More layoffs coming soon.
