How the heck did Principals become a target when there is this massive pile of SD’s and VP’s (reporting to each other often in some sort of business in---t setup).

Like… your car is on fire and someone stops by to mention that you have flat tire. Ummm thanks genius? Talk about the forest for the trees or whatever the heck.

Principals are also not responsible or the id--tic directives or lack of directives on work.

Start at the top to fix this mess, work your way down.

Some dude dirs literally do admin work which does not even match the level of what the great admin assists do. Why waste big $ on these. SMH.

@e1 specially in DAI team all principals are literally junior engineers. most if not all are on H1B too.

I worked under a Principal at Nike who was top 3 smartest people I've ever met in my life.

So while I understand that situationally and by team you may have different experiences especially with the weird "hire and promote your friends" dance that has happened, it's not strictly a good label for "Principals are bad".

Every non-essential domain/capability is under scrutiny and major impact is expected. And people will rotate to different domains to fill gaps

I fu--ing pray they start cutting PEs, all they do is waste time complaining that they can't read pull requests that lower band engineers are perfectly capable of parsing

Yeah this feels like wishful thinking on an individual contributors part.

Course if you had said Sr. dirs and VP’s I would have cheered but also shook my head and said “well that’s never gonna happen”.
