Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Which orgs have been hit today?

If any? Does anyone know? People haven't been reporting much.

Why wasn’t any of this reported to the news? I have not heard anything about it.

@11n I couldn't care less either way. Yiu get the point. You can't make changes once sent. Stop being the grammar police. You're probably one of those we spent money on creating a safe space rooms for. Get out of here with this.

Not a Tim Huval that is for sure. Lots of talking about nonsense, couldn't understand what the heck they were really saying. Pretending to be transparent. Hiring more executives who want to be closer to the work when they don't even know the work that needs to be completed leaving it all to AI bots and people overseas in freaking India to manage an American healthcare company. Is this what we as Americans want??? No offense to our friends from India if they actually live and work in America. Disgrace that the taxes we pay and others in our country to help people on Medicaid and Medicare goes overseas. That should be against the law. For gods sake train your people to do the damn work!!! Go into high school and middle schools, American colleges and teach our children ways for the future so we can secure American healthcare. These people could care less. They only want the cheap labor! Sickening 🤮

We still don’t know what exactly was done in the HR org despite many of us being RIF’ed apparently and outsourced. We had a call today and it was odd at best. Very little was shared and the slides had conflicting details all while preaching transparency. For the team that is supposed to do org design for others we seem to su-k at doing it ourselves or communicating it clearly. Our CHRO is vacant of emotion or ability to connect, a real people leader that one. 🙄 Ability to inspire is a real gap.

@pv If the stocks keep performing poorly, I suspect she and Jimbo will be out. I give them 18 months.

There is more coming in HR make no mistake. Going to be like finance where they outsource everything. And they will have to let go 50% of the leaders too because there won’t be anyone to lead. So good luck getting employees what they need or helping leaders with issues… is anyone telling folks about what is changing or are we just waiting till one day the HR phone lines reroute? I told a friend today about me being RIF’ed- she also works in HR and in a role that you would think would know. She was floored. No one is telling anyone anything and the calls should just all start getting forwarded to our fearless leader who hides and no one ever see’s. Like a mythical creature she appears quarterly at a full moon for a town hall and then crawls away to plot how to treat her own area like the step kids she doesn’t want. She is picking off anyone who has been here for more than 2 years one by one. Place is chaos. Wonder where she will be in two years!

@ph agree those of us who care about the associates and the business are questioning if we stay. They have only hired and promoted external and the rest of us seem to be the untouchables being strung along and lied to about things. Waiting a couple more months to see if there is an ounce of credibility in what they are saying but not holding my breath and end of day it seems they don’t want us but don’t want to let us go till we do all their cr-p work for this years eom changes. We are too old, too caring of the team, too caring about the business and apparently TOO HUMANA for the new crowd. Treated like an infection they want to root out and you wait not one internal will be given a chance to be part of her leadership team. She didn’t want anyone she hasn’t picked and groomed to be her yes pod

HR did have RIFs, a lot. And it was at all levels. And it isn’t new they had some last year too at varied levels. Probably more in HR than anywhere else this week it feels like. We have lost some great leaders who fought for associate care and the current senior leaders don’t seem to care about any associates including their own teams who are moved around and looked over and paid poorly and expected to do the cr-p work to try to care for the rest of the business while they are themselves treated subpar. Their senior leaders don’t care about caring for their own let alone the rest of the companies associates

@nx you are drinking the koolaid. People at all levels were RIF, not just leaders. Good people who’ve made significant contributions. So stop with the corporate nonsense. Wake up.

This isn’t the same kind of reorg. It’s a deep transformation, which is bigger and searches for duplications to lower cost. Leadership is where cuts are right now. It feels hard to go through this but you have to remember that Humana is not a nonprofit and does have to produce return for its shareholders. The Humana you remember is gone but it’s still a good company.

@OP I get this needs to happen from time to time. However, it's been 5 years of reorgs, layoffs, etc. Every time associates turn around someone is implementing a new structure, usually when a new Leader arrives which has been frequent. Stability is required; get it done and tell us the truth for a change.

I haven't seen any in HR or any upper management try to make Humana better for the associates! If you ever came across someone in HR that actually cared about any employee, they were unique! They just keep bringing new really expensive employees - and not one has made an improvement in over a year. I really wish I could name one VP or above that actually can do his/her job! I would love to know one person in HR that understood what the "human" in Human Resources meant. That is not unique to Humana - HR is never about the employees. They ensure no employees are in a position to sue the company - that is it!

@er not exactly true. Many fantastic leaders in HR were impacted. These were the champions for your associate experience, trying to make Humana a better place to work.

It does appear to be more of a reorg in the truest form and not a RIF this time.

From what I hear, MRA Record Retrieval is going to be Centralized as well as some of the Finance teams in the markets will be Centralized.

Both of these moves actually make sense, streamline processes and standardized reporting. Good for the provider groups who span across multiple regions.

Leaders from my org were in a mandatory meeting last Thursday, we're told communications will happen Monday and Tuesday. It is Wednesday now and to my knowledge no impacts to our org have been seen, certainly no comms have been sent. I dont understand the approach that leadership decided to take with this.

@e2 "HR is experiencing RIFS". About time too! But I bet it's only low level HR worker bees who got hit. The real HR bad apples (AVPs & VPs) will sadly likely survive.

A lot of areas - this place is a mess. I really feel bad for customers. They are going to get awful service in 2026! Of course I feel for the employees impacted - but the poor customers!! UGH!
