Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Before I joined TD, I used to separate work from the rest of my life

Not anymore. This place has seeped into everything. I wake up dreading the day, carry it home with me, dream about it at night. It's making me hate existing. That's not an exaggeration.

Keep looking. No job is worth the anxiety. I've been to those dark places where all you want to do on a Monday morning is go back to sleep and hope for another day. When logging into your computer first thing in the morning fills you with dread when you see how many unread emails there are or when everytime the phone rings, beeps or buzzes you just get triggered thinking what now. It's a horrible place to be in and you need to get out. Only you are responsible for your own trajectory

100%. Same. Add fear to that from new leadership. Don't come on here saying if I was doing my job well, I'd have nothing to fear. That's not true at any level. Management by fear and intimidation is poor leadership. It drives people to do the wrong behaviors to get by with the LT rather than do what should be done.

Don't worry. They will lay you off eventually. It is their perpetual go to.

Take care of yourself and best of luck looking for a new (and healthier) opportunity. Don’t let it consume you to the point you lose yourself. No job is worth that.

We know how you feel...That's how I've felt for many years. My mental health was a mess (nightmares, anxiety, depression) until I got laid off. And that was a relief. Good luck, and take care of yourself.

Yup. We've all dealt with the Sunday scaries at some point, but this is a complete new level. Most weeks I feel like I have an hour of clarity after logging off on Friday before the dread for the next week starts.
I am actively looking for a new role, but with the job market as it is, just need to deal with it. If it werent for health insurance, I'd probably just quit without having something else lined up, thats how bad its been for me.

Life is too short to be miserable. Start looking for a more rewarding career.
