Pointed out something that saved my boss from major embarrassment, but instead of being grateful he's upset at me for correcting him? Should've just let him walk into it. Lesson learned.

Just because you seem your manager to be a joke doesn't mean every single manager is. Some are actually decent and know what they're doing.
Did he blame a subordinate for the mistake and take credit for catching it?
