It is obvious layoffs are going to be massive. Maybe they will not happen all at once, but they are coming. I am done waiting. After 15 years here, I sent out my first applications yesterday and will keep doing it every day. It breaks my heart because I do like my job, but I will be damned if I just sit around waiting like sheep for sla-ghter.

I have left Oracle right before first lay offs landed, as I believed the rumors right away and was already looking for another job. Not that I was afraid of my position, but the workload was already insane, that if they would fire few other colleagues I wouldnt have a good time there.

No one is hiring under these conditions. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Companies are digging in for the long haul and hoping they make it through. For the few critical jobs that do open up you will need to know someone to even be considered. Work your networks hard.
