Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Washington State taxes are out of control

Starbucks just announced a second corporate office in Nashville, Microsoft threatening to move to Vancouver, BC, Amazon expanding it campuses outside of Washington State.

How much longer before TMO moves corporate to OP or Frisco to get away from the endless tax nightmare in Washington State?

@17h Freier's refusal to move himself while forcing everyone in his org to move is really inhumane.

@dc Most of them got laid off or terminated back in 2021/2022 when they were freaking out about being vaccinated (anybody remember the Slack post about getting vaccinated and watching them spewing conspiracy theories) and they're still here 5 years later moaning and complaining. They have absolutely no life at all.

@15n No, because it wasn't overrun by people escaping California...yet.

It will happen when Freire takes over and it won’t have anything to do with taxes. He has a proven track record of forcing people to uproot their lives to come to him vs him ever having to relocate himself.

@dc It's right wing to oppose a state legislature overtly violating the state constitution by instituting a tax in a law that's wholly unconstitutional?

Love ya Comrade. Go join AOC and Madmani in New York. You'll be happy there.

@e7 Not very keen are you! ALL employers in ALL 50 States pay taxes to the local and State governments. If you owned your own business you'd know this. Some people.. not very keen at all, mostly all liberal democrats too that want to take people stuff and not work for their own stuff.

T-Mobile management will be out of WA and to KS as soon as the Millionaire's tax is implemented. The C-Suite won't want to be paying the 9.9% of their earnings over $1M to the state. Nor the capital gains taxes on their options.

It's just math.

@e7 with your inability to use a proper conjugation of "to be", I can accurately determine your voting preference as someone who votes for more of those government "freebies" and union membership.

@de Why businesses be allowed to operate in a location for decades, enjoy all the benefits and resources, and pay no taxes?

Businesses make business decisions! If state government is going to keep increasing taxes to outrageous levels, why would any company of size stay? There is no true benefit to staying in Washington at all. This is why Texas and Florida have had so many relocations to their states.
Let's face it, the more the threat of socialism to any state, the more likely companies and the wealthy will leave. The key is to leave their voting history behind.

@OP WA just passed the millionaire salary tax of 10% so expect there to be some movement. When those folks relocate out of state, guess who will be paying for all of those freebies ? Socialism su-ks if you work because you pay for those that wont.

I think most of the major companies will have their corporate offices out of Washington State in the next few years. The city of Seattle is talking about an increased payroll tax. Washington State wants to add its own payroll tax. All the Washington State Democrats know how to do is race taxes there’s no accountability for how they’re spending their money. They’re acting as if there’s a bottomless pit of money for them to pull from. They will have a very rude awakening very soon especially with the passage of this “millionaires tax”. People along with corporations will be leaving soon.

Is there any talk of suing Mike Sievert for all the money he milked this company for? That should cover it.
