@aa Let me guess, you are in sales and are REQUIRED to be in office 8 hours a day lol... - which technically you aren't, as that is not an official company policy - but my guess is you are in sales due to your extreme bitterness LMFAO
Dude, you have NO idea what I actually do at Dell, what my position is or responsibilities are.
40 hour work weeks quite literally came from and started with Henry Ford when he invented the car. Which required factory workers. The entire 40 hour week has been unnecessary for a LOT of jobs for decades at this point. My dad is 72 and when he was in his 30's working at Motorola, nobody was ever working true 40 hour weeks.
The entire "40 hour" work week is outdated and ridiculous. Depending on the day and what needs to be done, I can get a large portion of it finished before 11am, or spread it out through the week if I want to. I'm getting paid a lot of money to basically play video games, nap, take my dog for walks, grocery shop, and game the vast majority of any given week, though.
My job is not super proactive but more reactive and I do not have to interface with anybody external to Dell. I manage thousands of things but, if they are not needing managing then well...
I'm getting my sh!t done, doing what is expected of me, and doing exactly what my job description is requiring me to do. Not my fault I can get my work done in 30 hours or less/week.. Guess what managers/execs care about? RESULTS! Mangement only cares about RESULTS my friend. How long that takes you is 100% irrelevant.
If you can do what is asked of you in 30 hours and it is what management is wanting, then that's all that ever matters dude.
Like I said, you are probably a su---r stuck in sales who has VP's requiring 5x8 work days. SU-ks for you buddy!
