Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

An unexpected 1:1

First time this has happened, in the middle of the week. Is this something to be concerned over, considering there are no active layoffs currently?

@tv Humm's only job was to prepare T-Mobile for the sale to AT&T and get it over the finish line (mainly because DT didn't want the company anymore). The sale failed due to Randall Stephenson being a twit, and pretty soon after it failed, Humm was removed (well left and lives on his T-Mobile comp as an "Artist") and temporarily replaced by Jim Ailing (a former Starbucks exec HAHAHA) and then by Legere.

Life at T-Mobile was awful under Humm. I recall bonuses being reinstated by Ailing or Legere, not Humm.

@qq It su-ked at the end of Dobsons reign. Humm at least brought back bonuses. Sure AT$T buying us would have been a blood bath but the cash and spectrum set us up nicely when it fell through. That was a smart contract.

@dy It sux when Philip Humm was CEO. It was good with Legere. It sux with Mikey Boy. And it sux with Srini.

@dw Then you can yell back. Stop thinking these people are better than you simply because they’re above you on an Org Chart.

@ds Look at all the companies in California that have left due to the cost of living and high taxes...Yamaha left CA yesterday for Georgia.

Even today, Howard Schultz, despised former CEO of Starbucks who let the Sonics go to Oklahoma City, is leaving for Florida the day a statewide income tax of 9.9% on those making over $1 Million a year passes the legislature.

It's a money thing. T-Mobile will leave the PNW, much like AT&T did many years ago.

@ds It isn’t sad. This company su-ks and has always su-ked.

Some of the VPs and sr. Managers are verbally abusing their employees behind closed doors. Unfortunately it isn’t illegal to yell at an employe and or degrade someone for a mistake. HR doesn’t do anything except ensure there is no law suit. Makes you wonder how they’re treated by senior leadership behind closed doors, to be that mean and angry.

My position ‘was eliminated’ in February. My director put a short call on my calendar. It was a day of BAU for those that weren’t affected. They had no idea it was happening and did t have any 1:1s put on their calendar. Also, the parking garage gate was put up since the badge has to be returned. I’m so thankful I was paid out, given severance, and can collect unemployment. Also, I no longer have to put up with so much toxicity and anger from sr. Managers. Save your money for a rainy day. None of the decision makers are loyal to you and the bottom line doesn’t have your back. Reading TMUS now has a global office in Hyderabad. Wonder how long the Bellevue headquarters will remain? Obviously it’s cheaper in Kansas. So sad to watch the decline of T-Mobile.

Jeff's group and studio still has to go, so some stuff is active.

Your manager is an id--t if he or she doesn’t put quick synch or something disarming in the invite, especially during these times.
