Well, pretty much any loser can become one, including the folks who screech loudly on this board. Point is there are many options beyond just flipping burgers.
You think real estate agent is a promising career at this point? REALLY?!?
The bloom is off the tech rose for sure. In hindsight tech was a poor career choice, but it IS possible to retrain.
My wife got her law degree in her early 40s. Other options require less retraining. Fiduciary, real-estate agent, a myriad of med professions and countless others. Time to su-k it up folks.
It won't help, because every job posting is being swamped with applications from automated systems. Employers are then using AI to filter those applications, which means that only applicants that have run their resume through an AI to optimise it are actually getting through.
I think a lot of people that get laid off by tech companies over the next year or two are probably going to have to back to school and retrain for another industry. :(
Persistence, Flexibility, Attitude there are tons of jobs to chose from. Most employers are asking 4-5 days in OFFICE. They key to find work is Flexibility, Persistence, Attitude :)
