I absolutely hate when layoffs get announced and then dragged out for weeks before anything actually happens. It feels like mind games designed to crush morale and get people to quit on their own. Leaving everyone to stress and worry every day is inhumane. Just get it over with so people can move on, for goodness sake.

Sorry to disappoint you but there will be no layoffs at Oracle in the near future now that they pulled the plug on the Austin data center. So go back on that gravy train and keep on riding until the music stops
@ct define bottom 10?
Did you mean employees who were at the top of salary bands?
Nothing was announced. Nothing is ever announced.
Rinse, wash, repeat, standard Oracle. Cull the bottom 10% every quarter, expect great results
. Works every time.
Adding to what @cq says below, putting your mental and emotional energy into your exit strategy is something you can actually control, unlike all the layoff bs. So put all of that energy of yours to constructive use.
Sorry, you need to stop with the 'woe is me' mentality. Either keep working while keeping and eye on the situation or actively do something to change it yourself. Whining on an 'anonymous' chat bored err board is a useless waste of time...
Put on your big boy/girl pants and assess your situation do something about it if you don't like it, nobody is going to do it for you...
@aa. Not speculation according to Bloomberg, who cited anonymous sources inside Oracle.
They never announced layoffs. They are all speculation news articles
they don't want to pay out severance
anything to save a buck
Unfortunately, big layoffs are now a quarterly thing at Oracle. This one should be over soon but then we will have to repeat the grim cycle again in Q1.
