Yall were right! I just got my raise last week and pulled in a meeting to get let go this morning. I am apart of the team that is one of the merger companies. Damn!

@110 It popped up at 9:30 for a 10:30 am meeting
Can anyone share how they are pulled into meeting. Is it last minute meeting request. Is it with your direct supervisor or manager. Any information on what to look for is appreciated.
@kk thank you I appreciate it. I am new to this site so I had no idea. They are pushing us to apply for internal positions and with Centene being mostly remote there are options. So that at least is good. I think I will just take a moment to breathe and explore other things.
@cm then I apologize for wondering this thread was just trolling. But this board does have its history… I hope you are given the option to take another position or reapply and come back. And I am sorry you were blindsided by this especially coming after a raise.
@cf exactly what part is a lie? A lot of people were laid ofd at both CCH and wellcare yesterday?
@g4 CCH Cupcakes and pizza…leading sheeps to sla-ghter!
I can vouch that the higher ups told us that our positions were safe and then we had the rug ripped out from under us. Better yet, this was 24 hours after a big Town Hall watch party and during Centeam Appreciation Week. Would put a very bad taste in anyone's mouth.
@ag don’t be a di-k
@c1 I put lol as a defense mechanism. I didn't think it was funny. I didn't find today funny at all. I am more disappointed at myself than anything. They kept promising us our jobs were safe during the merger. I believed them. I kept seeing people hire up in the organization get displaced but level they told we were safe. I no first hand now that companies do not care about you. They only care about their bottom line. My reviews have all been great. Amazing every year and now this. I was blind sided and lied too but I should have looked out for me. I truly loved my job.
Just sent it out to the group “damn!”
“Damn!”
@c7 the joke is that this whole thread is a lie.
@bq so you admit it was a joke? Why even make a joke at someone losing their job? Having to face getting another one in a tough market. We get the luxury of working at home. Maybe the new job for those laid off won’t be work from home. Even if they performed poorly, they got let go and they’re out. Why rub salt in the wound? I hope @OP had another source of income or savings to take care of their family until they can find something else. Even if OP were someone I couldn’t stand I wouldn’t joke at them facing what would be a hard reality life check.
But now I’m wondering if this is a troll post. Both OP and “it’s just a joke” are “LOL”into the whole way through. This board has been known to fear monger to the third degree
:)
@b7 Ignore that troll. Anyone acting as the grammar police while someone’s life is being upended isn’t worth your time. Or anyone’s time for that matter. Hang in there. If there’s one positive I see is that you at least are going to be ahead of the wave of mass layoffs coming our way. Hope you can use that to your advantage somehow.
@ag lol! True. I was obviously hurt/upset when I posted. Surprised any of it was coherent.
@ak I was given a last day (the day right before our official merger takes over
Very sorry to hear that. May I ask if the layoff is immediate or were you given a “last day”?
@ag Riiggghht. Like everyone in the town knew your mom was an easy “lay”. As the town’s only provider, she was “laid” daily.
Perhaps if you knew how to spell the word, "laid" correctly...
Sorry but not surprised given that duplication of riles was bound to lead to layoffs. Best of luck finding a job.
@a9 Medicaid line in NC. CCH (I was under this organization) is merging with Wellcare.
May we ask what market you were a part of? Understandable if you would rather not say.
@a1 thank you so much! I appreciate it.
Up arrow only in support of you. Good luck to you and sorry for what is happening.
