How soon after getting your bonus can you resign? Are there clawbacks?

I left voluntarily last year. My bonus hit my bank account 2 weeks before i left and bonus was not mentioned when i gave my two weeks. I will say i did not let my manager know i was leaving till after my bonus hit my account.

Let it hit your bank account first! You have to be actively employed

Don’t resign until you ask to be laid off. There are still more cuts planned and your manager may take you up on it vs. having to lay off someone who wants to stay. It’s worth a shot.

Only if you get stock. Usually there is a "vesting" time you have to wait through. Bonuses are fine once they hit your account.

Curious how others respond, but I can't imagine they can take it back. The bonus received now is for 2025 performance.
