Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

It would be nice to be able to move forward

Does anybody else feel stuck? I hear plenty of promises about promotions but none of it materializes. There is an opening, I apply, my manager all but convinces me it's a done deal, then they bring somebody from outside to fill the position. My manager then claims the decision was not his to make and we go back to the start. It feels that if I want to advance, I have to leave Honeywell.

The company is toxic because blind cost cutting is what maximizes shareholder investment in companies that have abandoned innovation as a business strategy. The strategy now is to bleed and drink, bleed and drink. DA was put in in place by greedy shareholders which means whoever replaces him will be the same if not worse.

Honeywell will continue to dangle the rotten carrot as long as you let them. Just leave. It's the best thing you can do. I did and got a promotion at my new employer in 3 months. I also doubled my pay. Don't wait any longer. I talked with a former colleague earlier this week. There are RIF's and furloughs coming after the holiday break. The new year is a great time to break free form the tar pit trap that is Honeywell.

I agree with @1gnt+1kjwQBDP

While it's only been a short while and has taken some time to adjust but holys--t, its a different world not having to be on non-stop fire drills and people whining and complaining over the most minutia bullsh--t. not having to worry about colleagues backstabbing or because you respond to an email or teams messages in 5 minutes rather than the nanoseconds they expect a response and they then alert your boss, your bosses boss, your bosses bosses boss about how you never respond...yeah theres been some trauma lol.

Get out, get healthier, there will be better work soon enough. it might be a tough 2023, but Honeywell won't do you any favors.

As long as DA is there, Honeywell will be toxic. They will sc--w you in a flash and take back everything that was promised. They are poison.

It’s a great job market right now - do yourself a favor, and get a new job. Life outside Honeywell is so much better!

The only thing that Honeywell is good for is a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Excellent job performance will only get you stuck in your current position. Honeywell will bring in an outsider instead of promoting you. They can then fire the outsider and keep you in your current productive role and hire another outsider. For all of the talk they give about promotion, it is all BS.

At least they kept you around. They laid me off within few months of hire. And I never got any proper feedback on my performance so I don’t know why me and not someone else on the team. And it’s been over two months and I still haven’t found a new job.

Even if you did get the promotion, this placed is boned. Get the experience, and have a developing plan to exit at 3yrs on the mark.
Don't understood and lose your vestment. Don't overshoot and lose out on good 401k match. Between then and now, play it how you want. Do what you want. It won't matter either way, just what you go do til then.

Feeling horrible, right? Taken any personal development training lately? That was what VP recommendation to move up. 10 years w/ HW and w/ graduate degree are not enough. Hmmm?

Please, just leave that employer. One of the most toxic work places in the US. And well known for that.

This is the thing, there has to be new products being made, new opportunities for promotions to happen or there has to be attrition, layoffs and downsizing to move up. Which do you see happening? Plan accordingly.
