Word of advice - never, ever relocate for a job

Most definitely not here. They treat us worse than disposable, and that's already rock bottom. Don't fall for the pay, the promises, or the fear tactics. Your odds of being let go soon after moving are way higher than the move ever working out.

I only ever relocated once for a role but before doing so, i negotiated a 'security' of three years (I originally asked for five). So basically I had job security for three years and if job is gone, they had to pay me three years worth of salary.

Only ever worked for me once in 30 years though.

After relocating, your manager could leave for a cushy job elsewhere. The next manager might not like you so you risk Focus/PIP. Engineering jobs can be done remotely just fine.

It's fine if you don't move your belongings and line up another job at another employer at your original location, then move back, and pay back the Amazon's low relocation reimbursement. Relocation is otherwise a scam. Layoffs can happen at any time.
