Is changing that even legal?

@ac - that’s not actually true. I asked if I could potentially move to a lower cost of living area and was told no.
Yes, it’s legal.
@ac We still live in the geographic area that is above C that they recessed us to. Whether it’s D or E or F. Downgrading to C is a punch in the face. The cost of living is higher in those areas doesn’t matter if you’re remote or in office.
@ac you are just brilliant dude. Go smoke more of whatever you are on. Costs of living do not match in all areas.
@ac this isn't it.
You're forgetting that we had legacy remote workers that were remote BEFORE COVID. And when they shifted workers to remote during COVID they gave people free reign to move out of our footprint. They did not have a plan for remote work to be temporary. The bank created a significant remote culture and celebrated it. It would be entirely different if our hiring strategy pre-covid wasn't diverse location wise and if they had the caveat that remote work was temporary for COVID and that we would eventually be back.
Now they're set on fu--ing people over for the choices the COMPANY made. This really isn't that hard to understand.
How is it illegal you aren’t driving to a hub! You can move anywhere and still wfh!
