Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Layoffs every 3 months?

As we just had layoffs the other day, do we expect to have layoffs in another three months? There’s a rumor of restructuring at the end of may which would coincide with this. Anyone else heard of this?

@18x The Bank is very careful to avoid layoffs. They would prefer to call it voluntary attrition or strategic realignment. Only because layoffs impact BNY’s State Unemployment Insurance tax rate and circumvents NY state and federal WARN Act notification requirements. Shady place this is.

Notice how most discussions under topics labeled “Layoffs” receive more than their fair share of agitating comments from HR trolls, including this so called 42 guy. This stoops to a level of disgusting behavior designed to camouflage actual ongoing layoff practices.

The layoffs are monthly. They did it in December, January and February. It used to be once per quarter but not anymore. At least not until all the BAH employees are gone. Next round will be in March.

To Post Id: Post ID: @dx+1kjbs3rs8 - Man can I relate to THAT. I've felt like this year is my last now for about the past 5 years at least. Now THIS year REALLY feels like it's going to be the last one!

@dx sorry if it has come across as rude, respect old timers and after few decades the cost of switching a job is higher compared to the severance and benefits.Having said that this place has turned into he-l since they started sc--wing employees and not offering severance..feel for you and hope the future is bright and you get what you rightly deserve..

Post ID: @a5+1kjbs3rs8 That’s because us old timers are so used to the abuse. We’ve been conditioned over many years. We’ve been neglected for so long that we are nearly numb and just awaiting the hangman to come down to the gallows.

Newbies are able to come in eyes wide open and see just how toxic it is almost immediately so they, wisely, put in a year, bounce to another internal job in year two and get out by end of year three.

Old timers like myself continue to wither away. Sometimes, you’re just too beaten, can’t throw another punch and just lay in the boxing ring waiting for the count to be put out of your misery.

Charlie started the quarterly lay offs and they just kept it going. Sometimes for fun they do it more often just so you are always in a constant state of stress and anxiety.
