@1eg what does SPO stand for? My experience is most of the VPs and higher are. It’s sad.
Can the VP of SPO move on already? He has created a toxic work culture. Terrible to work with
@jz R&D is the cushy of the cushy. Sit and kiss up to the CTO who promotes all his buddies and does nothing or ask my buddy who works in IT and it’s the same there with Smurfy who’s just awful so everyone wants to get away from the VPs and SVPs.
Not in R&D. Stuck with bad leadership who have not done anything but have lived very safe
Bad management hiring other bad managers. They don’t know talent because they don’t have it. They fake it then move on. Tweak KPIs to look like they did something. Get promoted. Run to the next company.
They all move on before any of their decisions can bite them in their behinds.
This is now and always was a huge problem with 3M. It takes a reasonable amount of time to become familiar with a new technology area, market area, customer needs, etc. It's just stupid to move someone around that fast.
also, they do not want them to feel too comfortable in one spot, it's hard to do any change after they are entrenched. @3 and @ab are also correct, good points
Because executives above them are clueless about 3M and how to grow a business and nurture innovation, so they think internal reorganizations will fix their incompetence.
They are like the mad crappers who take a dump in a company rest room and leave it perculating without flushing until a surprised employee comes in later.
This way they can cr-p on people and move on before the zhit hits the fan.
