@dj The 'wrong people' hired was not accidental. It was intentional. All big banks have bootlicking and nepotistic hires, but Citi excels in it. D's and MD's are allowed to run amok at Citi, bringing in friends, colleagues from the past, recommendations from friends etc whether their profile fits the job or not. And no..please don't being in Ethnicity. Everyone does it at Citi. I am elsewhere now, but was a victim of bigoted nepotism undermining my 3 year contributions and work of my 3 member team as an SVP...which was then feasted upon by two MD's, a D and their army of South American VP's and AVP's. The MD's were as white American as they come. Yet, the most devious, cunning, backstabbing, nepotistic individuals that I've ever met in my life here...and I've metg and worked with a variety of ethnicities - Anglo Saxan white, Eastern European white, Indian, Korean...what have you
Citi “throws bodies” at issues rather than experts. Been re-assigned to another team?, that makes you an at-risk generalist without an expertise.
Citi overhired and hired the wrong people in Risk after the consent order. Many firms have way better risk management with fewer employees. It boils down to quality and financial motivation.
ESG/EFT?
2nd line Risk? Enterprise Risk?
What area In risk?
Seems funny that the Consent Order from the OCC gets closed and the first place Citi decide to axe is Risk Management.
Maybe someone should advise the OCC to bring on what are inevitable future Consent Orders.
So how important is location? Is risk in Jax or SD any safer? I doubt it.
Any idea if risk dept in NYC also going to be impacted?
@a1 I don't know. You need to ask your manager
Is AML affected?
