Supposedly Belk corporate has been urged to rethink and reorganize the best of belk awards for 2026 as many employees say they can be construed as favoritism and discriminatory. If associates receiving the awards are receiving gratis, small gifts, extra employee discount, or other perks, and the qualifications for the award are vague, unclear, or if someone with better metrics and performance didn’t receive an award it can be a strong discrimination/favoritism issue.

Best of Belk in our store are always the associates with no moral conscience that trick the customers into getting the Belk card. Or make their own rules like giving extra discounts or misleading the customer by not giving all the information.
Best of belk is a complete and total joke.
Initially it was a way to keep lower paid support associates enthusiastic about their job. Then it turned into a popularity contest with a jar in the break room for associates to “drop names in”. Then it was monitored by our regional. And this year we’ve heard nothing about it so far. I hope they stop it completely.
@OP That is so true. Favoritism is shown in our store. They don’t care. I can assure you that we all know who will best of Belk this year.
