How true is this? My manager reminded me to make sure I'm staying the whole day when I go to the office, supposedly he's heard of 40 people being fired due to just swiping their badge and leaving. Anyone hear something similar?

- the body/face recognition in the halls of the office bldgs.
but I don't think they've resorted to that yet.
The cameras are in place already though.
Look up. You're on Candid Camera!
while the VPN list still exists, it hasn't been sent to managers in YEARS.
it's a dinosaur.
I heard they are looking at tracking your face and/or retinas thru the camera on your computer in the office.
If I'm in meetings and out with clients, I am not on VPN.
also, I keep my VPN hours outside of bank hours (8am-5pm local time) by doing stuff early in the morning and late at night, and keeping my total VPN per week under 30 hrs.
Never shown up on any "list".
your VPN time vs. in-office LAN time is tracked. If you plug into an office location, it registers time on site via the computer. This is how they target non compliance
my manager is on a different continent (OOUS), and I do most of my work offline to avoid tracking.
We badge into our bldg, but no badging out. (BOA does not own the bldg, just a lease)
So, how will they even know what time I left?
I'll say I was in various conference rooms in mtgs all day, out visiting clients, or some combo of both.
this is not enforceable, so unrealistic for these megalomaniacs to pull off.
just another ploy to get more people to quit to avoid paying folks out on LAYOFFS.
The beatings will continue until the crying stops.
It stresses me out bc my only sanity is having two days at home. Can anyone confirm that managers will have to start coming in 4 days? Is this company wide?
@ee1+k: What will the rules be for the lame managers who accept absurd and ridiculous excuses for not being the office?
@ax open floor is 3 days in office from what I am told
@at we were given a preview of these changes in December. But then a few weeks ago they were backing off of it.
What will the rules be for employees with absurd and ridiculous excuses for not being in the office?
@aw .......and people with open floor have to be 2 day week?
@av Some people have offices and some have cubes. Rumor is if you have office (a door) you are manager and need to come in 4 days. If you have cube you are not manager and come in 3 days. Supposedly this is being announced in March.
@at what do you mean offices or no offices?
I have not heard that, but people on the Global HR call this week saying managers will be trained in March on new rules. Track employee time in office and comply with in office rules or manager performance takes a hit in annual review. People with offices have to be in work 4 days a week. No office is 3 days a week but not both Monday and Friday.
