As I see hiring I also see forced retirement and cuts for similar roles. Worst thing is they fire you and ban you from rejoining for life! one of the worst way to treat your own ex employees who you called family!!!

Absolutely not, and this wouldn't be because of any animosity. It would have to be because I'd moved past the level I was at. Now if it was being hired back for a more senior position that'd be something different. But chances of that are slim because Ford seems to like to tie its hands by making it almost impossible for someone to help them again once they have been separated.
Part of me wants to get fired, it may be just enough to give me the guts to just end it and call it a day. God I hope the corktown strangler finds me soon.
The roadrunner sits defiantly in the cloud of ambition, with precipitation that drops the curtain early with wires hot.
Ask yourself ………if you are laid off from this company would you want to come back???? Could you do something better with your time?
Incredible
@kj
i am not sure it is even a company
it feels more like some sort of stock scam or plantation
the people on top always seem to make out well whether the company does good or bad
definitely not the same type of entity it was 30 years ago
The hire and fire (in 98% cases under 3 years) is a legacy strategy at Ford now to save on company 401k contributions (not vested 401k)
Ford never learned anything , and it strips the engineers while the top management keeps dancing and get promoted on f-ups failures and stupidity.
Recommendations:
- Laid off folks should get together and sue Ford these practices. Let Billy and Jimmy open their wallets for a few cents.
Ford is NOT a family! It is a company, and you have a job that is paid by that company. Nothing more! Don't drink the kool-aid!
Banning people from being hired again if they didn't commit anything serious is literally one of the most brain dead moves I've seen any company make. I don't understand and never will. Ford seems to be full of potential for stumbling like this. Either way it only drives people away and keeps them away. I guess they figure they have a steady stream of 3rd world labor to write software that keeps requiring OTA's to fix because of the desired level of incompetency they seem to be striving for.
Ford always hire people without any qualifications. It's because of who you know at Ford and not what you know.
Probably deserve it
Not ideation, this is reality, you need to read the separation agreement, ask anyone who was separated last few layoffs or wait for your turn you will find it yourself
