Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Do not buy what T is selling

I am a biggest advocate for products that I use. I give feedback. I use word of mouth. I put on good reviews. T on the other hand, does not allow their employees to use any telecommunication technology by enforcing an outdated Draconian policy from 1950s to work at an office. Why should I buy their internet? their cell service? their streaming? (if that's still even alive).

T does not believe in all of this. Why should you?

@e0 this is how I know you’re completely out of touch! You think people who worked hybrid have country club money!
At best, hybrid office work allowed a tiny shred of work/hone life balance. You could do stuff like maybe knock out a basket of laundry in between calls or actually get to pick your kids up on time to not have to pay extra at the daycare.
Please reevaluate yourself! If you aren’t some trolling c-suite or VP stooge get the boot out of your mouth.

I left Att on my own and immediately quit using all their products and my services have been stellar. Then after 7 years of having nothing to do with Att they somehow still had my information and released my information to the dark web. When I worked at Att they made sure we shredded stuff yearly. I guess not anymore. Att is the gift the keeps on giving. But I will never use any Att products again and I never recommend them to anybody. Att does not care about customer service they just want your info and money. They probably make more money from your info.

@e0 are you actually projecting that T may collapse soon because of non-existent customer service? Heck, even employees cannot recommend T as a great business or place to work at.

Boo hoo hoo.

I don't like to work, either. I tell everyone that AT&T is a terrible company because I used to play golf and tennis during the workday. Now, they want me to actually work in the office.

The audacity!

I’m ashamed to tell people who I work for! It’s impossible when your workplace is a toxic cesspool and a dumpster fire.

However, I do pass along the stories of the nefarious things the company does to the customers and the employees.

Advocate for? I don't even tell people who I work for. If you do, then without exception wait for the complaints to follow. "well, this one time..., My service does X... the rep added Y to my account..." etc.. etc...

Its not worth the pain.

I can't advocate for fiber to the home. I have no idea if it's any good since I am not allowed to use it

@a5 imagine thinking you need to RTO to “actually work” in 2026. Retire already and make room for the people who know how to work without an adult babysitter.
