The issue that is making IT a target is they are the largest OpEx expense and they're trying to reduce OpEx. Trouble is IT is not the actual problem, the problem is this stupid portfolio funding model. It forces IT to guess how much something might cost and they always guess preposterously high numbers because they don't want to not have enough budget to pay their teams. A far better model would be keep everyone baseline and prioritize work based on cost savings / OpEx reduction and legal / compliance requirements. So many programs that could save the company millions never get to move forward because the operational team can't get the funding to get IT to do it. To leadership this looks like a poor performing org but in reality it's a broken system.
How many people were laid off in IT this week? I heard it was a lot.
They think AI and HIH can do it. Let’s see how it goes.
Will the same departments get hit again?
I genuinely do not understand why IT is getting hit and not Digital and Analytics. IT is actually vital.
